Snow White is a classic tale of beauty, inside and out. This has been what we always wanted to teach ourselves and young girls to live by; that beauty is not simply measured by our physical appearance, but also how we treat those among us.
Mirror Mirror showcases the Evil Queen's vanity and a theory of how she came to be the villain of the story.
I came across a famous saying "we are our biggest critics" which suggested the wickedness of mirrors in terms of physical beauty. It lead me to the thought of how the Queen became evil.
As she holds the mirror in her hands, she is entranced and trapped by the reflection she sees in the mirror. How the hand and fingers are positioned in the drawing emphasise the idea that she is evaluating her own beauty which eventually leads to her undoing.
