STAINED GLASS COLLECTION

This mini collection was inspired by the colours and the shapes of church windows. It showcases a series of modest and contemporary silhouettes.
The inspiration came from watching multiple fashion shows on YouTube one night. There was Givenchy, Dior and Dolce and Gabbana. Combining my all time love for the silhouettes of Dior's dresses, the gothic prints of the Givenchy S/S 2013 collection, and the magnificent colour choices of Dolce and Gabbana, I created these three designs with my own interpretation of last year's trend: Baroque.
The trend focused mainly on prints and embellishments. Designers also liked to play with religious imagery as well as the concept of royalty. I wanted to combine both.
Each design in this collection was done individually throughout the year of 2013 which would explain the change in drawing style form the first design to the last. We also see my progression in interpreting a concept, starting from a literal sense to a more abstract form, diverting away from the concept.
